You walk down the street,
A kid just smiles at you,
The sight of it makes your day,
So, do you pay him too?
Answer this question and I'll have,
A thousand more to ask,
Because friends don't get paid,
For every single task.
I help you when you need it,
Expecting nothing in return,
But you have mocked my feelings,
By handing me money for what I've done.
Maybe you must understand that,
Its not about settling scores,
For, to repay a friend there are,
A million ways and more.

In Each Other's Arms (Subramanya Bharathi)
Thou to me the flowing Light
And I to thee discerning sight;
Honied blossom thou to me,
Bee enchanted I to thee;
O Heavenly Lamp with shining ray,
O Krishna,Love,O nectar-spray
With falt'ring tongue and words that pant
Thy glories here I strive to chant
Thou to me the harp of gold
And I to thee the finger bold;
Necklace shining thou to me
New-set diamond I to thee;
O mighty queen with splendour rife
O Krishna,Love,O well of life,
Thine eyes do shed their light on all
Wherev'r turn,their beams do fall
Rain that singeth thou to me;
Peacock dancing I to thee;
Thou to me the juice of grape
And I to thee the cup agape;
O spotless Beauty,Krishna bright,
Perennial fount of deep delight,
O Love,thy face hath grace divine
For there the deathless Truth doth shine
Silver moonlight thou to me,
Exulting Ocean I to thee,
Thou the basic harmony
And I the song that moveth free;
Dear as eyesight,Krishna,mine,
O Massed-up,sweet,immortal wine
Unceasing yearns my mind to scan
Thy endless charm,but never can
Inlaid perfume thou to me,
Petalled blossom I to thee,
Thou to me the Inner Thought
And I to thee the word it wrought;
O honeyed Hope,O Krishna fair,
O Joy,O'er flowing everywhere,
O Star of love,do teach me,pray,
To sing thy praise in fitting lay
Deep Attraction thou to me
Living magnet I to thee,
Thou to me the Veda pure
And I to thee the Knowledge sure;
Voice vibrant of the world's desire
O Krishna Love all-quickening fire,
In utter stillness here i see
Thy face that yieldeth ecstasy
As life to Pulse and gold to rings,
As star to planet,soul to things,
So Krishna,Love,art thou to me;
Thou,the force,I Victory
And all the joys of Heaven and Earth
In thee,O Krishna,have their birth
Ethereal glory,endless Might
O Heart of Mine,O Light,O Light!
And I to thee discerning sight;
Honied blossom thou to me,
Bee enchanted I to thee;

DILEMMA
Tigers down in their might,
Is it not man's proclaimed right,
To pluck the flower he just so loved,
To clean himself n filthy the lake,
To kill them all while he is awake,
Staring down the pit as they are shoved?
And all who want to share with him,
Must play the game all by his whim,
For he shall always want to win.
Justifying the action by the fact,
That he played with a bit of tact,
Insuring his species is not a sin.
Then what is this conservation et al?
Laughing at someone just after a fall,
Make up his mind he must and choose.
A dilemma it is- to save or to sieve,
A simple answer is- do what you believe
Just two options exist- you win or you lose.

NO NAME
When people lose trust,
In friends they trusted before,
When they just wake up,
And refuse to listen anymore,
What can he do more
Than trying to apologise,
Or correcting his mistake,
Without saying a single lie?
It is she who must believe,
That his deeds aren't just for show,
But when Trust has flown away,
The Friendship shall soon follow.

Lamentations
If only light understood the dark,
If only the seas understood the ark,
If only water fueled fire,
If only depth took you higher,
If only dusk never seemed dim,
If only she understood him.
If only the seas understood the ark,
If only water fueled fire,
If only depth took you higher,
If only dusk never seemed dim,
If only she understood him.

A Dream
“What is life?”, he asked me
And stunned me right there.
For I became a victim,
To this incredible affair.
But it set me pondering,
Unable to sleep anymore,
For there had to be an answer,
To this question, for sure.
That answer I did find,
Ironic as it may seem,
Although I was bereft of sleep,
Life is just a dream.
That is what it said, in
The book by Richard Bach,
And I seemed to believe it,
For, questions I did lack.
But, what did this mean to me?
That is what I sought.
This vast world have I created then,
With my incredible thought.
The white moon did I choose,
And everything that I “see”,
All of this “world”, and every face,
I am my God to me.
And there must be a million worlds,
A million minds at work,
Each one drawing its own lines,
With thoughts that run berserk.
And in this world did I choose,
For me to write this down,
As I imagined for you to read,
And maybe to astound.
And stunned me right there.
For I became a victim,
To this incredible affair.

Superhero
Awaiting my turn at,
The hospital queue,
Because superheroes
Are susceptible too,
A call I received,
From a person unknown,
Inviting me just then,
To a place thus shown.
There was something in the voice
I had to fear,
It surely did not seem
Like that of a peer.
Prepared for anything,
I made the flight there,
But, Something kept telling me,
I should’ve been more aware.
My mind thought of the time
When I had a wild swing,
Why had I been so unwise,
At my first meeting.
Well, there was no time to think,
‘bout all that was done,
I had work to do now,
An enemy to stun.
At first glance it seemed,
He was not there to fight,
Because he was dressed,
In clothes of pure white.
But when he showed his sallow teeth,
And opened his red eyes,
A disfigured fairy he seemed,
An angel in disguise.
He but allowed me twice,
To thrust my sword at him,
‘cause after that my body,
Was moving to his whim.
My arms just dropped down,
Like branches from a tree,
My feet too gave way,
And I couldn’t even see.
One by one, my senses
Started to fall apart,
And my part of the fight,
Did not even start.
It was unusually clear,
As I lay facing hell,
I wanted an answer from him,
Even as I fell.
His name I did ask, and
It resounded in my ear ,
“AIDS” came the reply,
Relieving me of all my fear.
